You Make Me Feel

You make me feel emotions I thought only existed in fairy tales - my happily ever after could be real 

You make me feel like I'm dancing so close to danger and enjoying every moment - living life riding on the thrilling waves of passion

You make me feel like I am pretty, like the rolls of my curves are more than a weight of shame - embracing who I am, believing who I can become

You make me feel like I can share every part of me with every part of you - trusting you to help strengthen my fragile heart

You make me feel like singing songs that tickle the earlobes of Heaven's angels - melodic sounds that birth new rhyme

You make me feel like I'm young again and like age has no number - free from the restraints that would bind our potential

You make me feel like I can fly to the clouds above, soaring through our imagination - creating new dreams reaching heights unseen

You make me feel excited to wake up in the morning to thoughts of us - excited to go to sleep at night to knock at dream's door, knowing you will answer

You make me feel like life has new meaning - igniting a flame from my last sparkle of hope

You make me feel like you are the one - the one for whom I have prayed, the one for whom I have cried, the one I thought was too good to be true

You make me feel grateful for being alive - illuminating the shadowed corners and chasing away those dark spaces that clouded my being

You make me feel like this will never end - like I could go on and on about the way I feel

You, oh you....who would have ever guessed?  You make me feel so, so...speechless!

What Kind of Man am I

What kind of man am I? I don't even know who I am...done spent the good part of my life in a constant state of change, being what they wanted me to be, doing things they needed done, desperately seeking, hoping to prove to them. But what kind of man am I? Never ever really defining self, my face an empty canvass...giving them paint brushes to draw on the face, driving me to a place where I move to the beat of their drum - dancing through a performance, directed by them, my insatiable audience. The performance I wish would end. So what kind of man am I? I want to break free f rom their chains, but the pains have become so familiar that I am afraid to move, afraid of the wounds that freedom expose. Time Will

Feeling spiritually inclined I attempt to purge the pain with each line but still it's here and I wish I could erase the times when I stood outside me and watched myself break my own heart Like a helpless child afraid even to look his opressor in the eye I wonder how I became so estranged from myself. Once I knew who I was and where I wanted to be.  Now that me seems so far away. There is so much distance in the gap that even my bridge forged in tears and hope seems to be no match. So I hold fast to the thin shreds of faith that hold me still.  Shreds that keep me here when my mind has already abandoned its rented space. In auto pilot I crawl out of bed, I wash this vessel, I do my song and dance, and then I fall back into bed.
